Today my humble little blog is celebrating a whole year since its inception. My very first post talks about the issue of time management, and my use of the timer (especially as a tool for limiting the time I spend online!). I rate the Flylady system, but all those emails (10+ per day) were driving me mad!
The Cycle of Change ponders some of the processes we go through as part of the human experience and how we deal with them. It is interesting to look back on how things have changed since then. The death of my grandmother a month after writing this post and changing jobs again make it all the more apposite in my opinion.
Our house is still very much a work in progress and I have learnt many lessons in tolerance during the last year. When clearing out junk, we used Ten and a half alternatives to landfill to avoid creating another problem. I did sell the fridge, using the sales and wants board at work.
Since starting the blog, I have become vegetarian, following my lightbulb moment back in October, and once I’d carried out my colon cleanse, I never went back to eating meat. In May, I set myself the challenge of becoming vegan.
My Season of Goodwill was featured on Zen Habits back in December, and is still my most read post to date.
I made a promise to myself to get more active this year, and I am happy to report that I have been incorporating more exercise into my life and have lost nearly 10lbs and feel much fitter. It all started with some winter walks. Often I find myself rewarded when I break away from the office for a lunchtime walk with some natural beauty.
Looking forward to the second year of Experiments in Living, I would like to write some longer posts, and maybe streamline the direction of the blog a little. I feel that at times I try to write about everything under the sun and I should specialise a little more, but this year has proved to be a learning curve for me. One of the things I would like to achieve in the next couple of months is to write a guest post on another blog, perhaps once I have finished my Spanish course I will have more time to devote to writing.

I wish I were able to keep a blog successfully, only my thoughts tend to err on the depressing side, littered with regret and wishful thinking. You rock xx
