I’ve made it to four weeks! I can hardly believe it. Some of the exercises at the gym seem much easier now, and I’ve just done my “review” and got a new programme to follow. I have now added the cross trainer to my routine, which is a new experience. When I first did it I went backwards. It is a really weird feeling when you are not used to it.
Enough waffling, here’s the report:
Saturday – went for a walk along the sea front
Sunday – gym for an hour
Monday – walk at lunchtime, yoga in evening
Tuesday – walk at lunchtime, review at the gym
Wednesday - walk at lunchtime
Thursday – hour at the gym after work
Friday – walk at lunchtime
I did something every day this week. Go me!
Leo from Zen Habits has posted some great observations on the quest for better health and fitness today. Varying your workouts is key to keeping interested and giving your body a new challenge. Since increasing my weights, I’ve got that “I know I’ve been to the gym” feeling the day after again, and that’s when your muscles are actually building mass. Once you start getting a little bit too comfortable, it’s time for a new challenge. I guess that can be applied to many things in life.
