Herbal detox

I’m not going to comment on Al Gore, since everyone else has jumped on that story already. And besides, this is a blog about change and experimentation, not politics :)
Anyway, back to today’s post…
It was reading Clear Your Clutter With Feng Shui by Karen Kingston which piqued my interest in this. She argues that as well as purging the clutter in our homes and workplaces, we should also have a periodic “internal cleanse”. Obviously I understand that this subject is distasteful to many people, so if you’re squeamish don’t follow this link.
It begs the question though - what’s more gross, clearing this stuff out or having it lurking inside, putrifying, possibly causing disease (yak!). So I did a little investigating of my own to find out what one needs to do to cleanse. I’m up for most things, although a coffee enema kit and DIY colonic irrigation seemed a little extreme. A further trawl of the internet brought up several searches (including some peeps who take pictures of their poo). Maybe this is wrong of me but I thought it should be titled “rate my poo” - ok, enough of that train of thought. Apparently this stuff is called mucoid plaque, and is the subject of much debate, as some doctors don’t believe it exists and it is just a way of parting fools from their cash.
In the interests of the Experiments in Living, I have ordered the 8 day colon cleansing kit from Blue Herbs . HTB rolled his eyes when I told him about this, as if I’d crossed the line into becoming one of “those people”. If there is such a line, I think I already crossed it a while back. I ordered the Ginger variety as I’m a “cold” person - there is also a Peppermint option for if you are a “hot” person. My circulation is virtually non-existent in the winter months, so maybe this will help. I’ll be starting the experiment in a week or so, however not sure if I’ll be posting pics of my poo, unless there is some outrageous demand for that.
What is more interesting than the physical side is that people have reported how this cleanse has also helped them become emotionally cleansed, as if somehow those bottled up feelings end up flushed down the loo along with the inevitable. Maybe that’s why uptight people get labelled “anally retentive”? Will I feel spiritually and emotionally cleansed as a result of this experience? Or will it turn out to be a load of sh*t?

Stumble It!

Gosh.
I’m tempted to ask how it goes, and yet unsure if I really want to know the answers.

The kit has arrived! I’m going to start the pre-cleanse on Wednesday this week. All posts related to this project will be filed under the category “Colon Cleanse”
